Douglas DC-3 Cockpit Project
« AIRCRAFTYou can help out!
The Arkansas Air Museum is currently rebuilding the cockpit portion of one of America's most venerable aircraft, the DC-3. The backbone of military airlift during the Second World War and the mainstay of early civilian transport aviation, the DC-3 remains in service around the world today.
The AAM wants to restore the cockpit shell to display condition to allow kids and kids at heart a chance to sit in the left seat and get the feel of what the golden age of transport aviation was about.
You can help. The AAM is actively seeking parts for the cockpit area. Everything from instruments to seats are needed since the museum received a bare bones gift.
If you have spares or inoperative DC-3 cockpit parts and would like to donate them to the AAM, please e-mail the museum with your items or suggestions.
