Sam Walton's first airplane

This two-seater aircraft was the first one that Sam Walton bought. He bought it in April, 1954 and kept it until September, 1956 and travelled over a three-state area. He found out it was easier to visit locations, such as prospective store sites, when he could do it in a straight line at 100 miles per hour, instead of driving through the Ozarks at 50-60 miles per hour. He eventually sold this one and continued to upgrade through the years.
